3D printing was part of the mission, just not in the way most expect

With Artemis II, everyone talks about rockets and astronauts. 🚀

However, behind the scenes, 3D printing is already part of the Artemis II mission. But only where this technology is most important for creation and design.

  • When lightweight materials are needed
  • When complex parts require fewer assemblies
  • When tooling/test systems can be improved
  • When certain engine components can be manufactured more efficiently
  • #prototyping

The aerospace industry needs to be very careful with adoption, therefore, materials and processes are being carefully evaluated before being implemented.

Additive manufacturing will be used in the aerospace industry in areas where additional value is provided. It is not viewed as a replacement – but as an improvement.

This is just the tip of the iceberg!

Beyond our planet, we won’t send parts up – we will 3D print them on-site 🙂
