3D printing was included in the launch, just not in the way most expect

With Artemis II, everyone talks about rockets and astronauts. 🚀

However, behind the scenes, 3D printing is already part of the Artemis II mission. But only where this technology is most important for creation and design.

  • When lightweight reduced weight materials are needed
  • When complex parts require fewer assemblies
  • When tooling/test systems can be improved
  • When certain engine components can be produced
  • #prototyping

The aerospace industry needs to be very careful with adoption, therefore, materials and processes are being inspected before they are put into use.

Additive manufacturing will be used in the aerospace industry in areas where additional value is provided. It is not considered a substitute – it’s viewed as an improvement.

This is just the tip of the iceberg!

Outside our planet, we won’t send parts up – we will 3D print them on-site 🙂
