In the beginning of my career we were just 3D printing parts.
A customer would send me a file, and I would send them the part.
That was the totality of the job.
Fast forward to present day:
- We help solve product and material issues;
- We assist engineers in making material choices and help manufacturers improve their manufacturing models;
- We facilitate prototypes, including 3D production in-house and in their production facilities;
- We manage quality from printing to shipping of parts;
- We verify quality levels for each production run. 🔍
With many of my projects, the printer is only one portion of the total manufacturing process.
The major factors in each project include application, material use, production flow and calculations, and the quality levels required for the part.
This transformation has changed everything about manufacturing.
Today, manufacturing is not just about creating parts — it is about building capabilities and delivering real solutions to manufacturers.
